Whether you are a social worker, case manager, counsellor, or support worker, we all frequently encounter clients with a history of trauma. This 1.5-hour workshop explores how we view presenting problems as symptoms of maladaptive coping strategies and how we respond to a potential crisis situation through a trauma-informed lens. During the workshop, we will be providing practical trauma-informed de-escalation and intervention techniques that can be used in your everyday practice

Learning outcomes:

  • Recognise, respond and apply trauma sensitive and trauma informed de-escalation responses to utilise in the workplace
  • Discuss prevention and follow up strategies that can help to reduce the likelihood of crises developing
