Below is a list of options for accommodation, including refuges and safe houses, emergency housing, men’s and women’s shelters, and rent assistance. Additionally, the services directory lists local low cost and alternative accommodation options.
Since April 2019, new tenancy laws have been introduced that allow the termination of a lease within 7 days on the ground of domestic violence

The Wheatland Motel offers 25 spacious, ensuite rooms including single, double, twin and family suites. Each room has tea/coffee making facilities, TV and aircon. Free WiFi is available. The also have a laundry and cleaning service.
The caravan park is located on the main road of town and also includes the Sandalwood Motor Lodge. The park has a drive-through powered sites, tent sites, two ablution blocks, campers’ kitchen and a recreation room. Dogs are allowed in the park, conditions apply. Facilities include:
Located in the northern part of the Southern Cross, opposite the Police Station. All rooms have ensuite, air-conditioning, TV, fridge, tea/coffee facilities and toaster. 28 rooms comprising of a combination of double and twin share and family rooms, sleeping up to 5 people.
The Lodge is designed to provide safe secure accommodation to Homeless men from age 18+. Men accommodated in the Lodge can expect to receive assistance with a range of services including:
Referrals from DCP, other agencies and self referrals accepted.

Whilst in Hope Cottage, families are offered education, information and support.
This program is designed to assist women and children who are homeless.
