Esperance Crisis Accommodation Service – Lachies House

Lachies House offers crisis and short term accommodation to single men & women and couples with/without children and families experiencing homelessness and other crisis.

Albany Women’s Centre – Anglicare WA

Albany Women’s Centre offers women, with or without children, affected by family and domestic violence a safe refuge and support services. Services include:

  • 24 hour on call service
  • Safe, secure crisis accommodation
  • Case management support
  • Outreach services
  • Support Groups
  • Advocacy
  • Community Education

Albany Youth Support Association – SHOT

The Supported Housing Outreach and Tenancy (SHOT) program is for young people from 15 to 25 years of age who need housing support. Staff provide outreach to those living in AYSA’s six transitional houses, provided through the Southern Community Housing Association. Young people can stay in these houses for up to two years. SHOT youth workers help them access and engage in education, employment and training opportunities, setting them on the path towards financial independence.

Shalom House Albany

Shalom House provides ‘shelter based’ crisis accommodation for men (18 and over) who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. They provide residential care, assessment, individualised support, and referral to other support services. Clients are able to book in one day prior or on the day for up to 2 weeks at a time.

Eligibility:

  • Male
  • 18+ years
  • Homeless or at risk of homelessness
  • Case managed or willing to accept a referral to case management services

Albany Youth Support Association – Young House

Young House provides supported crisis accommodation for young people aged 15 to 25 years (with priority given to those under 20 years of age) who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Young House operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Youth workers work to:

  • Develop independent living skills
  • Connect with education and employment opportunities
  • Move towards a return home (where possible) or independent living
  • Residents of Young House benefit from intensive case management, as well as referrals to and liaison with other agencies.

Department for Child Protection and Family Support

The Department provides a range of child safety and family support services to Western Australian individuals, children and their families. Contact them for assistance to access emergency accommodation.

Onslow Safe House

The Onslow Safe House offers crisis accommodation, advocacy, court support and an outreach service.

Men’s Domestic Violence Helpline

The Men’s Domestic Violence Helpline is a state wide 24 hour service. This service provides counselling for men who are concerned about becoming violent or abusive. The service can provide:

  • telephone counselling
  • information and referral to ongoing face to face services if required

Information and support is also available for men who have experienced family and domestic violence

Share and Care Community Services – Emergency Accommodation Program

This program assists persons who are at risk of becoming homeless or who are homeless and offers:

  • Short term crisis, hostel/hotel/motel accommodation for the homeless.
  • Information and referral to other services to assist in meeting the ongoing needs of homeless persons.
  • Assistance with part payments of bonds and/or ingoing costs

This service covers the Wheatbelt.
