CWA of WA Sir James Mitchell Fund

The Sir James Mitchell Fund is used to assist those who may need a helping hand. Applications for assistance are considered on an individual basis and are completely confidential. Assistance is in the form of IGA food cards, health expenses and other general assistance. It does not assist with whitegoods, rental bonds and arrears, utility bills (electricity, gas, water etc), car registration/maintenance, travel or funeral expenses.

  • Complete a budget with you;
  • Contact other services and agencies to confirm your bills and debts;
  • Call Horizon Power if you are struggling to pay your power bill, and you want Horizon Power to approve you for a government payment towards your bill: the Hardship Utilities Grant Scheme (HUGS);
  • Apply for some of your debts to be forgiven because of your hardship; and
  • Deal with debt collectors.

St Vincent de Paul Society – Emergency Relief and Home Visitation Program

Emergency Relief assistance through food, material aid, budget advice, utility bills, advocacy issues as well as friendship and support. Home Visitations are carried out by ‘members’ who join local groups called ‘conferences’. Conference members are volunteers who meet regularly to provide mutual support, spiritual reflection and to discuss how best to respond to the people they assist.

Albany Community Foundation

The Albany Community Foundation is a non-for-profit organisation with the vision of assisting local people in our community who have fallen on hard times at no fault of their own. The ACF endeavours to support the local community in a wide range of activities from providing support to local individuals, families and community projects as well as filling gaps in funding and services for existing charities.
