Desert Blue Connect – Men’s Community Intervention Service

The Men’s Community Intervention Service (MCIS) is for men who perpetrate family violence who are willing and motivated to seek assistance with their current circumstances and violent abuse.
 
We will work with men to provide case management and care co-ordination that includes:
 
•Initial risk assessment
•Victim support (face to face or by phone)
•Safety and accountability plan (case plan)
•Family agreement
•Support for fathering to keep children safe
•Information provision
•Ongoing risk assessment and risk management
•Support and advocacy
•Appropriate referrals
•Individual and group education (i.e. fathering, grief and loss, addiction)
•Transition planning
Criteria for service:
• Referrals from Police, Department of Justice, Department of Child Protection and Family Services and other local community services are accepted
• Men can also self-refer.
• Following assessment interviews, men are assessed for their eligibility for the service. Further referrals are offered when men are assessed as not eligible.

SEWB are a team of health professionals that are dedicated to providing culturally sensitive services for the people of Derby and surrounding Aboriginal communities. Staff are able to help with a wide range of emotional problems including, but not limited to; depression, anxiety, anger, grief, sadness and worry. Services are for all age groups from youth to older members of our community.

Communicare Breathing Space Program

Communicare Breathing Space program is available to all men who have been abusive in their intimate partner or family relationship and are ready and willing to make long-term behavioural changes. Communicare’s therapeutic community provides men with up to six months of accommodation while they undertake an intensive therapeutic program including individual informal counselling and case management in their behaviour change journey.
 
Providing residents:
 
• Opportunities to reflect and be accountable for their behaviour and the choices they have made.
• A structured program which supports and encourages learning, offers alternatives and assists men’s capacity in understanding and taking responsibility for their violence, anger and abuse.
• An environment where access to information assists to develop positive strategies to resolve their difficulties.
• Referrals and links to services that meet the needs of each individual participant.
• An extended support service, counselling and assistance post the completion of the six month program for sustained behaviour change

Centacare Kalgoorlie – Goldfields Mental Health Portal

Goldfields Mental Health Portal will deliver place-based low intensity support and psychological interventions to people of the Goldfields-Esperance region. The Goldfields Mental Health Portal provides:

  • a comprehensive assessment
