This service assists individuals and families on low incomes, experiencing financial difficulties. The service works with clients to resolve financial crises such as the risk of legal action, loss of essential services or eviction. It offers information, conducts assessments and will provide options and support to assist consumers to address identified problems and manage their financial situation more effectively. To attain emergency relief you must be an existing client of Centrecare and have an appointment. Emergency relief is overseen by a financial counsellor and evidence of hardship is required. This service can also provide assistance with applications for No Interest Loans (NIL) and Hardship Utility Grant Scheme (HUGS), food vouchers to Foodbank, assist with bill payment, transportation and Telstra. Limits to emergency relief are $100/single per year and $300/family per year. Referrals are accepted.
