Redress support workers are there to help survivors of sexual abuse understand the scheme, talk about feelings and guide them through the application process. The National Redress Scheme has been set up to help people who experienced sexual abuse in Australian institutions to gain access to counselling and a Redress payment. The scheme acknowledges the damage that has been done to people as children and holds institutions accountable.
Redress Support Workers can:
- Be someone to talk to
- Give you information about the scheme and answer your questions
- Help you fill out an application
- Help you understand your Redress outcome
