This session provides a practical overview of the dynamics of family and domestic violence (FDV) and coercive control and the heightened risk factors for culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. CALD-specific barriers to safety will be explored, including temporary visa vulnerabilities, and how coercive and controlling behaviours are present across different cultural contexts.
Participants will learn how they can respond safely and connect people to culturally appropriate supports, with key contacts and resources provided.
