Quick Exit

This three-hour workshop explores family and domestic violence (FDV) and the experiences of children and young people. Participants will gain knowledge of child-centred practice and how to embed it in their own practice. The safety and support needs of children and young people are discussed, along with good practice recommendations for services. Resources and support options for children and young people will also be provided.

Learning outcomes:

  • Recognise children and young people’s experiences of FDV and coercive control, and recognise their resilience
  • Demonstrate ways that practitioners can put child-centred practice into action
  • Articulate strategies that enhance safety and support children and young people experiencing FDV
  • Embed good practice strategies within your service that recognise children and young people as victim-survivors in their own right, prioritising safety and well-being.

Who Should Attend:

Anyone working directly with children and young people impacted by FDV.

Note: A prerequisite for this training is the DVassist Introduction to Family and Domestic Violence, similar core FDV training or experience in providing responses to victim-survivors experiencing violence.
