
Training Overview
This training explores family and domestic violence (FDV) and the experiences of children and young people. Participants will build knowledge of child-centred practice and how to embed it into their own work.
Children’s and young people’s safety and support needs are discussed, along with recommendations for good practice for service providers. Relevant resources and support options for children and young people are also provided.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the session(s), participants will be able to:
- Recognise children and young people’s experiences of FDV, including their resilience
- Demonstrate ways practitioners can put child-centred practice into action
- Articulate strategies that enhance safety and support for children and young people experiencing FDV
- Embed good practice strategies within their service that recognise children and young people as victim-survivors in their own right and prioritise safety and wellbeing
Duration
This online training, including the activity workbook, will take approximately 2–2.5 hours to complete. The workbook contains seven activities and includes some external videos to watch. Links to the external videos are provided in the workbook.
The training consists of four videos.

You can complete the training in one sitting or at your own pace. You will have unlimited access.
