Murchison Outreach Service Mobile Clinic

The GRAMS mobile clinic travels to remote areas in the Mid West and Murchison region to provide health services to patients. A male and female health worker, doctor and podiatrist are part of the mobile clinic team. Services provided to patients during these trips include general medical care, chronic disease clinic, health promotion and dispensing of medication.
 
Mobile Clinic provides services to Mt Magnet, Yalgoo, Pia Wadjarri, Kardaloo Farm, Sandstone (by appointment), Meekatharra, Yula Jinna and Cue.

Youth Focus Midwest

Youth Focus delivers frontline services and education programs which aim
to reduce symptoms associated with suicide, depression, anxiety and
self-harm, and build long-term mental wellbeing to help young people
reach their full potential.

In addition to our core service offering of free face-to-face
counselling, we engage with communities to educate and build awareness
about youth mental health issues and suicide prevention. As part of this
engagement, we deliver education programs in schools and communities
across Western Australia.

Yalgoo Public Library is a part of the Shire offices. Membership is free and book orders may be requested. The library features a large collection of books as well as a licensing computer, available for online drivers licenses and Hazard Perception tests.

Geraldton Regional Aboriginal Medical Services – Murchison Outreach

GRAMS Murchison Outreach Service mission is to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders better access to primary health care and diabetic education. Their outreach service travels to Cue, Yalgoo and Pia Wadjarri to engage and support our patients living in remote WA.

MEEDAC – Yalgoo

MEEDAC runs Community Development Programs on behalf of the Australian Government. MEEDAC provides a free gardening service to those people in the community who would otherwise find it difficult to upkeep or maintain their yards or gardens. MEEDAC also helps with Counselling and Health Intervention. A Community Mentor works with job seekers that have health or personal barriers such as drug and alcohol dependency, as well as relation/personal issues or barriers. This is to assist job seekers with all barriers which can affect their ability to engage in job seeking and their activities.

Midwest Alcohol and Drug Services

Based in Geraldton, Midwest Community Alcohol and Drug Services provides a fortnightly outreach service to Kalbarri, Dongara, Northampton, Mullewa, Morawa, Three Springs and Eneabba.

Once a month the team also travels to Yalgoo, Cue, Mt Magnet, Meekatharra and Wiluna.

Midwest Mental Health and Community Alcohol and Drug Service

The Midwest Mental Health and Community Alcohol and Drug Service provides assessment, treatment and advice to people with moderate to severe mental health and/or drug and alcohol issues. They also support carers, other local health services and other agencies that work with people experiencing mental health and/or drug and alcohol issues in various ways such:

  • Needle exchanges;
  • Individual and group counselling;
  • Referrals to detox and rehabilitation services;
  • Intervention programs;
  • Drug and alcohol education and awareness programs in the community

Aboriginal Family Legal Service assists Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people live free from family violence and sexual assault. We not only offer free legal services, but community education and early intervention and prevention programs as well.
