Below is a list of everyday necessities services, including secondhand clothing shops, emergency relief, soup kitchens, safe computer and Wi-Fi access, and government support. Centacare Kimberley is able to offer a range of supports to people on Centrelink Income Payment who are experiencing financial hardship in Broome, Kununurra and Balgo. They provide eligible people with food and clothing vouchers, and can give people access to food items and home starter packs when available.
Breakfast Program offers a free nutritional meal on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:00am – 9:00am to individuals, couples and families who are facing financial hardship and/or are homeless. (Wheelchair access available)
Centacare Kimberley works with community groups to give people access to services such as, health and wellbeing support, tenancy support, drug and alcohol counselling, family and men’s relationship counselling, mental health support, emergency relief, and income support.
Broome Library provides free Wi-Fi, Internet access and computer terminals are available for everyone.

The Safe Connections program provides tech-abuse advice to women who are experiencing technology-facilitated abuse as well as being able to provide women (and children) affected by domestic, family or sexual violence with a free Safe Connections phones and top-up credit (eligible clients can top-up 3 times in the financial year).
They also provide tech-abuse advice where they can organise appointments with one of our tech experts.
WAConnect is an online directory where users can search for food relief, financial counsellors and emergency accomodation among other services.
No Interest Loans (NILS) provide individuals and families on low incomes with access to safe, fair and affordable credit.
Loans are available for essential goods and services such as fridges, washing machines, car repairs and medical procedures for up to $1,500. Repayments are set at an affordable amount over 12 to 18 months.
Eligibility:
StepUp is a low interest loan for people on low incomes who have difficulty accessing credit from a bank. You can borrow from $800 – $3,000 with up to three years to pay it back. There are no fees. Loans can be used for items such as:
