The alcohol and drug team at NCHS develop and implement health promotion activities that aim to reduce harm from and use of alcohol and other drugs in the Fitzroy Valley. Together, the team provide the following services:
- Family, individual and community education and support sessions for alcohol and other drugs
- Support for applications and existing Section 152 alcohol restrictions on houses
- Support for communities with Section 175 restrictions, or for those communities wanting to apply
- School education program
- Alcohol and other drug information to communities and community groups
- Management of the Fitzroy Valley Alcohol and Other Drugs Prevention Group
- Health promotion events and community activities
- FASD education and prevention
