Silver Chain Health Service remote area nurses have a wealth of experience and provide services including:
General health assessments;
Chronic disease management;
Advanced treatment for illness and injuries;
Emergency response in life threatening situations;
Health promotion and co-ordination of public health care.
The service works closely with the Royal Flying Doctor Service and St John’s Ambulance for emergency response and transfer, and co-ordinate visits from general practitioners (GPs) and health specialists to ensure that communities receive ongoing health care services. This can include:

  • Child immunisations;
  • Optometry;
  • Geriatrics;
  • Diabetes education and support;
  • Continence management;
  • Antenatal and postnatal care;
  • Mental health;
  • Drug and alcohol support.
