Great Southern Community Alcohol and Drug Service – Albany

The Great Southern Community Alcohol and Drug Service (GSCADS) team supports communities across the vast region from Walpole to Bremer Bay, and north to Kojonup, Katanning and Lake Grace as well as many places in between.

Our services are free, confidential and everyone is welcome.

Here for You

A state-wide, confidential, non-judgemental, telephone service giving a single point of contact for anyone concerned about their own or another person’s alcohol and other drug use and/or mental health issues.  Contact is one-to-one with a qualified counsellor or professional peer practitioner based in WA. Peer practitioners have a lived experience of alcohol and other drug use and/or mental health issues and recovery and are trained to use their experiences to support individuals living with similar issues. Provided by the Mental Health Commission of WA.

Parent and Family Drug Support Line

The Parent and Family Drug Support Line is a confidential, non-judgemental telephone counselling, information and referral service for anyone concerned about a loved one’s alcohol or drug use. Callers have the option to speak to an experienced parent volunteer.

The counsellor who answers your call can:

  • Listen to your concerns
  • Provide you with information about alcohol or drug use
  • Provide emotional support and professional advice
  • Offer to transfer you to a parent volunteer for peer support
  • Talk about support options for you and your loved one
  • Refer you to local services that can provide you and your family with ongoing support
