The Carnarvon Service provides services for Indigenous people which include child health and immunisation, dental health, environmental health, general consultations, outreach services to in the Mungullah Community within the Gascoyne Junction region, which are closed every second Friday, visits by health specialists and pharmacy services.

Aboriginal Family Legal Services – Carnarvon

The Aboriginal Family Law Services can assist people with their family law matters when there are children involved. They will represent clients in the Family Court WA, however much of their work involves helping clients to work out parenting agreements. Here are some things they can help with:

  • Assistance in child matters;
  • Negotiating parenting arrangements;
  • Family Court applications;
  • Recovery Orders;
  • Parenting Arrangements;
  • Contested & Consent Orders;
  • Advice for grandparents and other family rights.

Yaandina Community Services – Turner River Rehabilitation Centre

Yaandina’s Turner River Rehabilitation Centre is a 24 bed facility that uses the Therapeutic Community (TC) model for treatment and addiction recovery that includes mental and physical healing.
 
This centre provides a facility in the Pilbara that allows individuals who have successfully completed a detoxification process from drugs and/or alcohol to recover from their addictions. Turner River is certified against the Standards for Therapeutic Communities in a Residential Care setting and also certified against the Standards for Culturally Secure practice.
 
Individuals may refer themselves directly for admission to Turner River, or be referred by one the following:

• Department of Communities

Wheatbelt Mental Health Services

Wheatbelt Mental Health Service provides free, confidential, quality, community mental health care to people of all ages in the Coastal and Wheatbelt communities. The Wheatbelt Mental Health Service is a team of mental health professionals including a consultant psychiatrist, clinical psychologists, social workers, child and adolescent professionals and community mental health nurses.
Locally based, multi-disciplinary teams are located in Northam, Gingin, Merredin and Narrogin. Regular visits are made to outlying areas within the region to meet community needs. Outreach is supported by telephone consultation and videoconferencing. Clinical liaison is provided to hospitals within the region. Clinical programs include:
  • Aboriginal Mental Health Program (all ages)
  • Adult Mental Health Program (18-65 years)
  • Child and Adolescent Mental Health Program (0-18 years)
  • Seniors Mental Health Program (65+ years)
  • Youth Mental Health Program (15-24 years)

The South West Aboriginal Medical Service (SWAMS) is a Noongar Community Controlled Health Organisation.

Regional Alliance West – Community Legal Centre

Generalist Services:
The Community Legal Centre offers free legal information and advice covering most aspects of the law.
• Help to prepare documents for you
• Liaise with others involved in your issue 
• Assist you with understanding legal concepts.
You can make an appointment with reception or if you are unable to make it to RAW, they can arrange for a telephone or video link up.
Gascoyne Community Legal Service:
They can assist you if you live in the Gascoyne region with enquiries as per the Generalist Service.
 
Nyarlu Miyarnumualgu:
This is an outreach service for Aboriginal women.
