The Midwest Mental Health and Community Alcohol and Drug Service provides assessment, treatment and advice to people with moderate to severe mental health and/or drug and alcohol issues. They also support carers, other local health services and other agencies that work with people experiencing mental health and/or drug and alcohol issues in various ways such:

Youth Focus Geraldton (headspace)

Youth Focus provides a friendly, confidential and professional service for young people who are in need of counselling and support. Our Counsellors are trained professionals who work with young people specifically around issues associated with suicide, depression and self-harm. Youth counselling appointments are free of charge.

Midwest Mental Health and Community Alcohol and Drug Service provides multidisciplinary assessment, treatment and advice to consumers in the Midwest region with moderate to severe mental health and/or drug and alcohol issues.  It also provides support to carers, local health services and other agencies that work with people experiencing mental health and/or drug and alcohol issues. Ruah Community Services

Our team in Geraldton offers personalised support and respite accommodation for people in the area who are diagnosed and living with severe and persistent mental illness.
The service operates a four-bed respite care facility and is open to people aged 18-65. Clients must be case managed by their General Practitioner, the Midwest Mental Health Service or a psychiatrist.
 
Referrals can only be accepted from treating mental health professionals who are available to provide shared care with Ruah’s personalised support services.

Counselling for family and friends: Free and confidential counselling to people who are supporting a family member or a friend living with mental health challenges, including:

Fusion Geraldton – Community Supported Residential Unit

In Geraldton we work in our community supplying accommodation that focuses on mental health and living well. The CSRU. is a medium to long term transitional service. Taking in residents who need a new start, bringing stability to their lives and connecting residents with appropriate services and finally when the resident is ready, transition them into their own place with support if needed.

Referrals are only accepted from Midwest Mental Health Services, a private psychiatrist or GP with the consent of the person wanting a place at the CSRU.
